The Flexible Underfloor Heating for Dry Building
How to install heating on wood, tile, marble or even on the wall, without concrete and delays.
Why Haka-Dry?;
In modern renovations and new construction, the time and height of the installation are often the biggest constraints. Dry-structure underfloor heating systems come to provide a solution to these problems, making installation quick and therefore your response to projects more immediate. Unlike conventional wet building systems, Haka-Dry does not require any cement (concrete), making it ideal for any finished floor.
Application on Floors: The Ultimate Flexibility
Haka-Dry consists of EPS300 thermal insulation boards only 25mm thick, offering minimum construction height. Depending on the desired surface finish, the application is adapted as follows:
1. Wooden Flooring and Laminate
Haka-Dry is the ideal solution for wooden floors (glued or nailed) and laminates.
-
- Advantage: Due to the absence of moisture (since no concrete falls), the wood is not in danger of “swelling” or deformation.
-
- Installation: The finished floor can often be laid as a “floating” floor directly on the system (with a suitable intermediate layer of vapour barrier), or glued, using 7-10mm self-leveling cement, allowing direct heat transfer.
2. Tile and Marble
For hard floors such as ceramic tiles or marble, the Haka-Dry system directly provides a stable substrate to prevent cracking.
-
- Advantage: Haka-Dry tiles are placed directly on the ceramic tiles or marbles. Only in the case of small tiles (e.g. 30x30cm) the use of a mesh/unwrapping membrane is required.
-
- Installation: Placement of two special primers (epoxy and quartz) before using rubber tile adhesive.
Application on walls and ceilings
One of the strongest features of the Haka-Dry system, as shown in Alphatech's technical studies, is its ability to be installed on walls (Wall Heating) and ceilings.
Wall Heating (Wall Heating)
The wall installation converts vertical structural elements into radiant radiators.
-
- The Construction: Haka-Dry panels are placed between wooden or metal profiles. The plasterboards (or fibreboard) are screwed onto these profiles for the final finish of the wall.
-
- The Materials: The Haka PE-RT/AL/PE-RT 14x2mm pipe is used, which is perfectly embedded in the grooves of the insulation.
-
- Performance: As demonstrated by thermal imaging (FLIR), the heat distribution is uniform over the entire surface of the wall, ensuring thermal comfort without air currents.
Ceiling Heating & Cooling
The system can also be applied to the roof. This solution is excellent not only for heating but especially for cooling, as it takes advantage of the natural property of the cold air to descend downwards, cooling the room quietly and hygienically.
Summarizing
Alphatech's Haka-Dry is not just a heating system, but a renovation tool. Whether you choose the warmth of wood, the luxury of marble, or even if you don't want to touch the floor at all and prefer the walls or ceiling, Haka-Dry adapts to your needs.
