Technical Description
Description of the system
The HAKATHERM DRY system is HAKATHERM's new dry floor heating technology. Due to its low installation height (45 mm finished floor with tile) it provides the ideal solution for renovations in properties/buildings and/or for newly built properties with low free height.
The HAKATHERM DRY system consists of:
1) Floor heating pipe HAKATHEN 14×2.0
2) HAKA DRY panel
3) LASTOFOAM STYRENE ADHESIVE adhesive
4) VIMEPOX PRIMER ECO epoxy primer
5) Acrylic-Lacrylic Primer SAND PRIMER
FLOOR HEATING TUBE HAKATHEN 14x2.0
Floor heating pipe HAKA GERODUR, 14 x 2 mm, KL 4.5/10 bar, of ethylene-octane copolymer with aluminium. For maximum thermal conductivity, with the lowest thermal expansion. With high strength, flexibility and long-term durability due to the molecular structure with linear ethylene main chain and octane side chains. The tube HAKATHEN 14×2.0 has a shelf life at least 50 years for long term temperatures up to 70° C and maximum pressure of 10 bar.
The maximum operating temperature reaches 95°C, in the short term up to 110°C.
HAKA DRY panels (EPS 300)
HAKA DRY panels are the "core" of the HAKATHERM DRY system. It is a high mechanical strength EPS 300kPa plate for direct tile coating, without the use of thermal concrete. They are fully coated with aluminium film for optimal thermal conductivity over the entire floor surface. They can be installed on most existing floors without removing the old flooring. So there is no need for costly
and time-consuming tasks. They are available in 25mm thickness for ideal thermal insulation, with 10cm or 15cm pipe spacing.
Materials
LASTOFOAM STYRENE ADHESIVE is a one-component adhesive-foam based on polurethane, without solvents.
Used for bonding HAKA DRY panels to any substrate. It shows low swelling and is easy to use and apply. Drying of the adhesive is achieved by exposure to the humidity of the atmospheric air.
Suggested consumption: 100-140ml/m2
Application: on a flat, clean surface, without pronounced differences in height (ideally on top of a clean concrete or self-leveling levelling material). Suggested use of plastic plugs for better slab application.
VIMEPOX PRIMER-ECO is a transparent two-component epoxy system without solvents.
It has great adhesion to metal surfaces. It has excellent hardness and resistance to both mechanical and chemical stresses (acids, alkalis, petroleum products, etc.). It is used as a first coating on HAKA DRY panels.
Recommended consumption: 0,2-0,3 kg/m2
Application: with brush or roller in one layer. Coating after the primer has dried (10-12 hours) and at the latest 24 hours after priming.
- SAND PRIMER is an adhesion primer based on acrylic resins and quartz sand. It imparts roughness to smooth or non-absorbent surfaces, such as that of the aluminium in the HAKA DRY panel. It is used as a second coat ensuring the adhesion of cementitious adhesive to the system for bonding the final floor surface (e.g. ceramic tiles).
Suggested consumption: 0,3-0,35 kg/m2
Application: with brush or roller in one layer. Coating after the primer has dried (4-6 hours) and at the latest 24 hours after priming.
DESCRIPTIVE PANEL HAKA DRY
All in one-panel
HAKA DRY panels include straight channels as well as channels with return to the same plate. This makes it very easy to install, and maintain stock.
Instant channels
To use the return channels, you simply need to cut the film at the U-turns to be used. Press the film into the channels using the back of a knife. It is very easy to cut new channels locally using a knife or electric router.
Ceramic tiles directly into the system
The ceramic tiles can be installed directly on the HAKA DRY panels! This is unique and works perfectly as long as certified products that have been tested and approved with HAKA DRY panels are used. For bathrooms where you shower directly on the floor, a moisture barrier must be applied over the panel before the tiles are installed.
